Story by Michele Ponte

January 10th, 2015

During the early summer of 2014, I translated a short story by Michele Ponte, a young Italian writer. He was working, he told me, on a collection of stories about contemporary Rome, to be titled Good Morning, Rome. His ambition, he wrote, was to narrate Italy’s capital city one story at a time. Such a notion is always beguiling and intriguing and I certainly wish him well. He has now published ‘Nice Work’ – the story I translated – as Good Morning Rome [sic]. It may be read for free on his website, .
